Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond wins

Jim Hammond will continue as the Hamilton County Sheriff.

Hammond won today's Republican primary election over Chris Harvey with 68.4 percent of the vote.

Because there are no Democrats on the ballot, Hammond will run unopposed in the August general election.

Harvey, a patrol sergeant in the sheriff's office, garnered 31.5 percent of the vote.
