A suspected serial rapist has been sentenced to 22 years in prison with no parole after assaulting a Memphis woman, nearly biting off her finger.

Rossville resident Michael Richardson, 35, was convicted in March of aggravated rape after DNA tests linked him to the August 2012 crime.

The victim, 46, told jurors that Richardson picked her up in the area of Jackson and National, then drove her to rural East Shelby County where he forced her to have sex. When the woman tried to fight him off, Richardson bit her finger, causing a cut that required numerous stitches to close. He also robbed her of $27 before forcing her out of the car and driving away.
