Emma Balogh, left, and Jessica Thompson use a water-soluble paint on Wiggles the horse during Hubfest at Heritage Park last year.Some 8,000 visitors are expected for Hubfest, an all-ages community festival set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Heritage Park in East Brainerd. Now in its eighth year, the festival showcases local musical talent, small businesses, service organizations, vendors and sponsors. It is presented by the city of Chattanooga's Youth & Family Development and the Public Works Department.
Gates open at 10 a.m., with a parade at 11 a.m. Entertainment on two stages begins at 12:15 p.m., featuring Roddie Stubblefield, Ryan Oyer, Call the Sheriff, McGill and Company, Barger School, Alda's Cardio Dancers, Antonia McMath and his Zumba team, Charley Yates and A Man Called Bruce.
Hamilton County and Chattanooga dignitaries are invited for a presentation of the colors at 11:15 a.m. by the U.S. Naval SEAL cadets.
Also in store are Mystery Dog Ranch horse rides, a horse to paint, puppet shows, displays by the Tri-State Military Vehicles Association, balloon animals, train rides, inflatables and other activities for children. Concessions will range from shaved ice to lemonade to Mediterranean foods.
Admission to Hubfest is free. Proceeds from the day go toward Friends of East Brainerd's support of the park.
