Knoxville teen charged with attempted murder

CLINTON - A Knoxville teen accused of stabbing another man six times - with one wound puncturing the victim's chest cavity wall - remained in the Anderson County Jail Tuesday, charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Dakota Michael Rogers, 19, was arrested late Sunday night in Roane County after a deputy encountered him "very nervous and ... breathing very hard" while walking, according to a Roane County Sheriff's Office report. A routine check showed that Rogers was wanted in Anderson County, the report states.

Rogers is accused of a March 24 incident on Mehaffey Road in the Anderson County portion of the Powell community.
