TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress confirmed that the Region 3-AAA softball championship game between Cookeville and host Soddy-Daisy, which was stopped with one out and two runners on in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday, has been ruled an official game because the teams played past the fifth inning.

Shonna Penney was the winning pitcher in Soddy-Daisy's 6-4 victory. Abby Walker went 3-for-3, including a two-run single in the first inning when the Lady Trojans scored five runs after two were out.

Soddy-Daisy will host the loser of today's Region 4 game between Coffee County and Oakland at Murfreesboro scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EDT.
