BAXTER, Tenn. - Authorities say a man fatally shot his son during a dispute at their home in Putnam County.

According to WTVF-TV, shots were fired around 1 a.m. Saturday in the Southern Hills golf course community in Baxter.

Authorities have not released names or details about the dispute. They also have not said whether the father will be charged.

Golf club ranger Terry Griffin told the television station that the son helped maintain the grounds at the golf course.

Griffin said the young man seemed to get along with everybody.

"I just can't believe he's gone," he said. "We're going to miss him."
