MOSCOW — A train collision near Moscow killed at least four people and left 45 others wounded Tuesday, officials said.
The Interior Ministry said the accident happened when several cars of a cargo train derailed and hit a passenger train near Naro-Fominsk, a town 50 kilometers (30 miles) southwest of Moscow.
The Emergency Situations Ministry said several cars in the passenger train traveling from Moscow to Chisinau, Moldova, then derailed under the impact of the collision, and some of them overturned.
The cause of the accident wasn't immediately clear.
Ambulance crews rushed to the site to help the victims. The emergency headquarters dealing with the accident said 15 of the wounded were in grave condition.
