The Dixie Group, Inc. today reported it has completed the previously announced public offering of 2.5 million shares of common stock yielding more than $26 million to help pay for its recent $17.5 million purchase of Atlas Carpets.

Dixie said net proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, and to reduce the balance under the company's revolving credit facility.

Dixie Group is a Chattanooga-based maker of specialty carpets.
