Baylor defeats GPS in tennis, Sequatchie wins in softball at Spring Fling

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Action continued on field across the Murfreesboro area for the second day of the Spring Fling with tennis and softball Wednesday morning. Chattanooga-area teams were set to get going in baseball, soccer and more softball this afternoon.

In girls' tennis, Baylor defeated GPS 4-0 in Division II-AA and the Notre Dame girls fell to Christian Academy of Knoxville 4-2 in Class A/AA.

Sequatchie County's softball team avoided elimination with a 6-3 win over White House in the Class AA bracket. Soddy-Daisy was set to begin competition in AAA shortly after 2 p.m. and GPS will look to avoid elimination in Division II-AA tonight.

Boyd-Buchanan will play Jackson Christian in Class A baseball today, while Baylor and McCallie meet for the fourth time this season, with a spot in the Division II-AA championship series on the line. The Red Raiders have won all three previous meetings.

Baylor's soccer team also takes the field this evening at 5:30 against Father Ryan.
