MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A promising start to the Class A baseball tournament took a bad turn for Boyd-Buchanan on Wednesday as the Buccaneers lost two games and were eliminated.

The day began with a 6-1 loss to Jackson Christian and ended with a 13-5 defeat to Goodpasture, which ended the Bucs' season.

Goodpasture's runs came in bunches, getting five in the second, four in the sixth and four more in the seventh to put the game away and the Cougars, who own nine state titles, collected 17 total hits. Cade Evans went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Nathan Murrell and Joshua Antwine also had RBI hits. Hunter Payne had the Bucs' only extra-base hit, a double, and also scored two runs.

Jackson Christian scored at least one run in each of the first three innings, added two more in the fifth and Hayden Crowe allowed just three hits to the Bucs.
