Open-studio art sessions in Cleveland each Sunday

Area artists can take advantage of open-studio sessions Sundays this summer in the Mayfield Annex at Lee University, 1201 Magnolia Ave., Cleveland, Tenn.

Lee art professor Alex Loza, founder of Loza Studio & Atelier of Figurative Art, will host the drawing and painting sessions. These open studios, he says, are noninstructed and will feature live models in costumes.

Sessions begin at 5 p.m. with quick pose warm-ups for about 45 minutes. After a 15-minute break, a long pose session will last the next two hours. Artists may drop in on any weekly session for $15 ($10 with an active student ID).

Participants may bring their own materials. Easels, drawing boards, tables and light refreshments will be provided.

Loza requests RSVPs by the Friday before each Sunday's event. Email aloza@leeuniversity.edu with "Open Studio" in the subject line.
