»Start/finish line for Monday’s Volkswagen USA Cycling Professional Road Championships will be on Market Street between M.L. King Boulevard and 12th Street.
»The multiple-lap course will travel through downtown and the UTC campus, cross the Tennessee River and back, head down Broad Street toward Lookout Mountain, ascend via Ochs Highway, use Ochs extension to reach Scenic Highway, descend the mountain on Scenic Highway and return to the start/finish line via Broad Street.
»Spectators may wander into the Chattanooga Market-sponsored vendor area of food and crafts, check out two Volkswagen-sponsored 18-wheelers with interactive exhibitors, or browse a business expo. Big-screen televisions will be showing the action of Monday’s road races at three locations along the course: the start/finish area downtown; Frazier Avenue; and the Sierra Nevada Beer Garden and American Dudes Memorial Day Bikin’ Party at the intersection of South Forest Avenue and Scenic Highway on Lookout Mountain.
»The venue site for the national championships also will offer the VW 18-wheelers, the business expo and a Sierra Nevada-hosted beer garden.

Saturday, May 24
8:30 a.m.: Handcycling Time Trial
11 a.m.: Time Trial Female Pro, Cat 1/2
2 p.m.: Time Trial Male Pro
The U.S. Pro Championships time trial course will start and end at the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant, and riders will complete two laps on a 9.5-mile out-and-back course on Discovery Drive and Hickory Valley Road almost to the intersection with Highway 58.

United Healthcare Kids Race May 26
Hey Kids! Ride like the pros on the U.S. Pro start/finish course Monday, May 26. Race categories will be open to kids 3-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Register in advance or at the Outdoor Chattanooga Tent in the Road Race expo by noon. It’s free and every kid will get a medal and a water bottle. Race staging will begin at 2:30. Each race category limited to 30 riders.
