Two women indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on April 2 for prescription drug fraud in Soddy-Daisy were booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Wednesday.

The women, Brigitte Lynn Gabehart, 45, of Soddy-Daisy, and Barbara S. Hatfield, 62, of Hixson, were both indicted on 10 counts each of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Gabehart's charges occurred from Nov. 1, 2013, to Feb. 24, 2014, and include five counts of obtaining Zolpidem, commonly known as Ambien, four counts of obtaining Butalbital and one count of obtaining hydrocodone.

Butalbital is a barbiturate that is generally combined with other medications to be used for treatment of pain and headaches, such as tension headaches.

Seven of Gabehart's charges occurred at the CVS Pharmacy located at 9389 Dayton Pike, and the other three at the Walmart Pharmacy at 9334 Dayton Pike.

Hatfield's charges occurred from April 19, 2013, to Feb. 6, 2014, and include nine counts where she obtained Hydrocodone and one count of obtaining Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax.

All of Hatfield's charges happened at the CVS Pharmacy on Dayton Pike.

According to the indictment, Gabehart is also known as "Brigitte Lynn Goins," "Bridgette Lynn Hick" and "Brigitte L. Watts."

Both indictments list two doctors - Frederick Gould and Ronald Jarl - at the Soddy-Daisy Medical Center located at 210 Walmart Dr., as having been summoned by the state to testify.

Both indictments also suggest a bond amount of $10,000.
