Powers wins women's time trial at US pro cycling championships

Alison Powers of United Health Care Pro Racing put in a powerful ride Saturday afternoon to with the women's time trial at the USA Cycling Professional Championships at the Volkswagen Plant in Chattanooga.

Powers, who was the women's time trial national time trial champion in 2007, finished the 19-mile course in 42 minutes, 23 seconds, beating defending champion Carmen Small by 29 seconds.

Small's Specialized-lululemon teammate Evelyn Stevens was third with a time of 43:26.
