Construction of a proposed roundabout at Jenkins and Igou Gap roads is going to reroute traffic for the next couple of months.

Work is supposed to begin Tuesday, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Transportation Department.

The intersection will be closed to eastbound and northbound traffic. An intersection bypass will be provided for westbound and southbound traffic.

Detour routes will be posted.

The estimated project completion date is Aug. 15.
