Chattanooga Lookouts finish April 28 loss, then win 6-3 in road series opener

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Chattanooga Lookouts lost 9-2 Monday in the resumption of a game against the Birmingham Barons that began April 28 at AT&T Field but was suspended by rain, but the Lookouts then won 6-3 in the official opener of the five-game road series.

In the resumed game, Birmingham built on its 6-2 seventh-inning lead with RBI singles by Jaime Pedroza, Trayce Thompson and Kevin Smith in the ninth.

In the full game, Chattanooga opened with doubles by Darnell Sweeney and Ryan Adams and took a 2-0 lead on Brian Cavazos-Galvez's home run to left field in the second inning. In the fifth, Jeremy Hazelbaker hit a two-run double to right and O'Koyea Dickson added an RBI double to center to give the Lookouts a 6-0 advantage.

Game two of the series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Tyson Brummett (4-3, 1.66 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, while Chris Beck (2-6, 4.28) is scheduled for the Barons.
