The pros weren't the only ones setting records on bikes during the Memorial Day weekend in Chattanooga.

A "gift" of free passes to Bike Chattanooga allowed residents and visitors pedal a record number of miles on the city's bike sharing system.

Volkswagen of America and BikeToursDirect sponsored the free weekend passes, which gave 1,187 people complimentary 24-hour passes on the system, according to an Outdoor Chattanooga new release.
