Nashville newcomer in free concert at Hunter - June 1

June 1 is Free First Sunday at Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View, as well as a preview of the concerts to come in the All-American Summer Music Series starting June 19. Sunday's guest artist is Joy Styles, a Nashville-based country/pop singer who is touring in support of her debut EP release, "Trying To Be Me." Born outside Philadelphia, Styles has worked in New York City doing theater, television, film and voice-overs, has performed with legends such as Leslie Uggams and Phylicia Rashad and starred as a Raelette with the Ray Charles Tribute Orchestra. Visitors also can enjoy tours of the galleries and drop-in art tables for kids until 4:30 p.m. Sunday hours are noon-5 p.m. Styles' performance will start at 1 p.m. For more information, call 423-267-0968 or visit
