United Way scores with city-county government game
What: Employees of Chattanooga and Hamilton County governments went to bat for United Way of Greater Chattanooga during a benefit softball game held at McCallie School. The city's team won 14 to 4.
Benefits: The game raised $260 in ticket sales for United Way, but employees of city and county governments also collectively donated $6,000 in school supplies for Stuff the Bus, a United Way initiative that benefits Hamilton County public school teachers.
All Aboard for Sculpture
What: "All Aboard for Sculpture: Viva Italia" drew 112 guests who were treated to a scenic tour of Chattanooga aboard a Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum vintage train while enjoying an Italian-themed dinner with cocktails.
Benefits: The event raised money and awareness for the 33-acre Sculpture Fields at Montague Park.
