Georgia picked up the 24th football commitment for its 2015 signing class Friday morning, receiving a nonbinding pledge from safety Rashad Roundtree.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder from Lakeside High in Evans, Ga., is rated by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 2 safety and the No. 24 overall prospect. He is the third Rivals.com top-25 national prospect from within the Peach State to commit to the Bulldogs, joining Albany defensive tackle Trenton Thompson (No. 7) and Hogansville athlete Terry Godwin (No. 8).

Georgia is the only program with three top-25 Rivals prospects.

Roundtree made the announcememt in Evans, which is a suburb of Augusta, and he was sporting Georgia Bulldogs pants. Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn and Clemson were among the other schools he considered.

After landing Roundtree, the Bulldogs vaulted to No. 2 in the Rivals team rankings behind only Alabama, with Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee rounding out the top five. The top five classes right now according to 247Sports.com are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and Clemson.
