The Southern Lit Alliance's So Lit Book Club will present "An Evening With Tony Earley" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Nov. 13, at GreenSpaces, 63 E. Main St. Earley, an English professor at Vanderbilt University, will read from his books, which include the August release "Mr. Tall: A Novella and Stories."

He also is the author of the novels "Jim the Boy" and "The Blue Star"; "Here We Are in Paradise," a collection of stories; and "Somehow Form a Family," a collection of personal essays. Winner of a National Magazine Award for Fiction, Earley was named one of the 20 best writers of his generation by Granta in 1996 and The New Yorker in 1999.

Books will be available for purchase, and a book signing will follow the reading. A cash bar will be available. Admission is free.
