According to authorities, a motorist waved down a Bradley County deputy at the intersection of 25th Street and Peerless Road and told the officer the mortally injured Davis was inside the car.

The deputy followed the car to SkyRidge Medical Center. Other people also followed the car carrying the victim to the hospital, which triggered a lockdown there. Davis was flown from SkyRidge to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga, where he later died, authorities said.

Cleveland police charged one person at the hospital with disturbing the peace in connection with events there.

The homicide investigation by Bradley County Sheriff's Office detectives is continuing.
