UPDATE: Woman dies after fire in North Chattanooga home

A woman injured in today's house fire at 220 Houser St. in North Chattanooga has died, and a man is in critical condition.

The woman died at 2:36 p.m. today at Erlanger, according to Bruce Garner, public information officer for the Chattanooga Fire Department.

The 35-year-old woman and an adult male who was also critically injured in the fire were flown to the burn unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The investigation of the fire is continuing.

This is Chattanooga's second serious house fire this week. The city marked its first fire fatality of 2014 in a Hixson fire on Monday night.
