Want to work off today's big holiday meal? Stop in The Jump Park of Chattanooga on Friday night, Nov. 28, for an hour or two of trampoline exercise.

The Jump Park is hosting Family Fun and Food Drive, its first fundraiser for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The Jump Park's regular admission rates will apply, but for every nonperishable food item guests bring in for donation to the food bank, they'll receive a $1 discount off the admission price. That offer is good for up to five food items.

"In other words, normal admission for one hour of jumping is $12. If you bring in five items, you get $5 off and just pay $7," says Venita Jensen, event coordinator for The Jump Park.

Jensen says the benefit will be held from 5 p.m. to midnight. After 9 p.m., the jump area will be illuminated with lasers and neon lights. For parents with small children who wish to come early in the evening, there is a cafe where pizza, hamburgers, nachos and other fast foods can be purchased for dinner.

The Jump Park contains 50 connected trampolines, including a separate jumping area for ages 12 and younger. Guests may jump either barefoot or wearing grip socks (socks with rubber treads on the bottom), which are sold for $4 a pair at the venue for those who don't own them.

"There will be lots to do," says Jensen. "We'll have movies going. There is a game room that offers Ping-Pong, pool, Foosball, shuffleboard and an indoor soccer area."

Jensen says everyone must sign the company's waiver, which is standard policy, adults signing for children under age 18. Only children ages 7 and older are allowed on trampolines alone. Children 6 and younger must have a parent or guardian with them at all times.

Jensen says reservations are not required, however she suggests anyone bringing a large group call ahead to ensure a trampoline time. Another time saver is to download the company's waiver from the website, then bring the read and signed waiver with you.
