Roadrunners fall in triple overtime

In an early-season showdown of undefeated NAIA-ranked men's basketball teams, host William Carey finally got past Dalton State in three overtimes Friday night in Hattiesburg, Miss., 101-95.

Ninth-ranked William Carey improved to 6-0 with the Southern States Athletic Conference win. No. 15 Dalton State is 6-1 and plays today at Loyola of New Orleans.

Sean Tate hit all of 12 of his free throws and scored 33 points in defeat for the Roadrunners, who got 19 points from Preston Earle and 18 points and 17 rebounds from Ladaris Green. Jordan Bowling added 10 points.

The score was tied at 64 at the end of regulation, at 75 after the first overtime and at 85 after the second extra period.
