Good Deed: Room in the Inn benefits from donor generosity

photo Children, whose mothers were taught self-sufficiency skills at Room in the Inn, express their gratitude.

Chattanooga Room in the Inn, a residential facility for homeless women and children, was chosen as a beneficiary in Karndean Designflooring's 40 Good Floors for 40 Good Causes Campaign. Rhonda Gay with Chattanooga Flooring Center nominated the nonprofit agency.

At the same time, the women's group of Christ United Methodist Church, under the direction of interior designer Amy Winchester, chose the agency for a service project to renovate the heavily used and outdated kitchen.

All work was donated by volunteers from various agencies. Innovative Cabinetry installed new kitchen cabinets, while Floor Designs installed the donated flooring. Removal of the old materials, prep work and painting was completed by volunteers from The Refuge, a family mission group from West Point, Miss.

From all of us at Chattanooga Room in the Inn, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You've made this the happiest of holidays!
