Police arrest suspect in North Chattanooga assault on 69-year-old man

Chattanooga police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault on a 69-year-old man who was running through North Chattanooga Monday.

A 17-year-old man has charged with aggravated rape in the case, police said. The Times Free Press does not identify minors charged with crimes unless they are charged as an adult.

The 69-year-old man was running around 7:30 a.m. Monday on West Mississippi Avenue when the assault occurred.
