UT Business school named for Haslam

The University of Tennessee has named its College of Business Administration after Jim Haslam in recognition of a $50 million gift from the Haslam family. The university's board of trustees approved the name change Friday.

Haslam is a UT alumnus and is the father of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, who is CEO of Pilot Flying J. The elder Haslam founded the company. The gift was from Jim Haslam and his wife, Natalie, their children and children's spouses, and their grandchildren and grandchildren's spouses.

The decision marks the first time the university has named a college in recognition of an alumnus and donor.

Dalton gets CNG; Chattanooga up next

The first public access compressed natural gas station in Dalton, Ga., is set to open in early 2015 and permit easy fueling access for drivers on Interstate 75 between Chattanooga and Atlanta.

Located at Carbondale Road and Dixie Highway, the Amp Trillium LLC station will service Class-8 trucks as well as any CNG vehicle. Construction is set to begin in November.

Amp Trillium is a joint venture between ampCNG and Trillium CNG, which will build and operate the station.

The joint venture is set to bring at least two additional CNG stations to the region, one in Chattanooga and another in Newport, Tenn.
