PolyTech Fibers to build Chatsworth plant, create 114 jobs

A polyester fiber manufacturer plans to build a $12 million plant in Chatsworth, Ga., and hire 114 workers.

PolyTech Fibers LLC, announced today that it will build an 80,000-square-foot production facility at 2017 Highway 411 North in Chatsworth to supply the automotive as well as the filter, nonwoven and commercial/residential and high-end furnishing fillers.

"We are excited to launch our first plant in Murray County," PolyTech Fibers President J.Y. Choi, said in a statement today. "Our team is made of experienced engineers and businessmen with years of production and sales expertise."

The employee-owned company said the facility will be capable of producing 80 million pounds a year of polyester fibers at competitive prices.

PolyTech Fibers LLC, was founded January.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said the company plans are "an excellent addition to our state's manufacturing sector, an industry that employs more than 360,000 Georgians.

"Our No. 1 business climate, which includes a top-ranked technical workforce and solid logistics system, makes Georgia an ideal location for this company," Deal said.

The jobs created will be in the areas of textile manufacturing and extrusion. Hiring will be done through TiDra staffing.
