A former lead singer for The New Christy Minstrels will reclaim the sounds of the '60s in a concert Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Cleveland, Tenn.

William Florian calls his show "Those Were the Days," describing it as "an upbeat, musical journey of America's greatest songs of the '60s ... and uplifting originals presented with amusing stories ... ."

On his website, Florian promises songs he performed with The New Christy Minstrels ("Green, Green"), plus selections from Peter, Paul & Mary ("Puff the Magic Dragon"), John Denver ("Annie's Song"), Pete Seeger ("Where Have All the Flowers Gone") and The Mamas & The Papas ("California Dreamin'"), among others.

Florian has been performing, writing and recording since high school (a seventh-grade teacher told Florian's mother to take his guitar away until he did better in math, but she didn't listen). After high school, he and his sister Nanette left their Connecticut home and performed throughout the United States. They joined the famous folk group in 1977.

Florian's show is the first of five in the 2014-15 season by Bradley Concerts Inc. On Nov. 20 the group Let's Hang On will sing the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Al Simmons, a one-man variety show, is scheduled Feb. 5.

On March 16, the eight-piece ensemble Good Company will perform country, rock and gospel music. The season closes on April 16 with the return of Jason Coleman in "The Legacy of Floyd Cramer," the young pianist's tribute to his grandfather.
