Tennessee freshman defensive end Joe Henderson is "away from the team right now for personal reasons," a program official confirmed to the Times Free Press on Sunday afternoon. The 6-foot-4, 234-pounder from Cleveland, Ohio, had yet to play in a game and was working on the Vols' scout team as he takes a redshirt year. Henderson was present for practice last Tuesday, but he did not participate, even though there did not appear to be an injury. He was a four-star recruit, according to Rivals and 247sports, and had 14.5 sacks his senior season at Shaker Heights High School. Though Henderson originally was announced as an early enrollee by Tennessee in January, he could not get cleared academically in time and joined the Vols with the rest of the 2014 class in late May.
