Public meetings to be held on new Chattanooga bike lane projects

Chattanooga's Transportation Department will hold two public input meetings Thursday to discuss design plans for bicycle lane projects on Broad Street and in St. Elmo.

The Broad Street protected bike lane project will run from M.L.King Boulevard to the Tennessee Aquarium. The project in St. Elmo will be a pedestrian and bicycle greenway on Virginia Avenue.

The public will have the chance to talk with designers and give suggestions on routing and design.

Meeting times:

• The Virginia Avenue greenway project will be discussed at the Old Fire Hall, 4501 St. Elmo Avenue, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday.

• The Broad Street protected bike lane project will be discussed at the Development Resource Center or DRC,1250 Market Street, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
