Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a McMinn County, Tenn., man charged with assaulting his father-in-law.

At the request of 10th District Attorney General Steve Crump, TBI special agents began investigating William Casey Pittman, an enforcement officer for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, on Sept. 30. During the course of the investigation, agents determined that on Sept. 28, Pittman was involved in an altercation with his father-in-law, Scott Ledford, at Ledford's home on Rebel Road in Oldfort, Tenn. A neighbor hearing the commotion called 911 and when officers got to the scene, they noticed that Ledford had cuts and redness to his face.

On Tuesday, the Polk County grand jury returned an indictment charging Pittman, 31, with one count of domestic assault. Pittman turned himself in Wednesday at the Polk County Jail where he was booked and released after posting a $1,500 bond. Pittman has been placed on administrative leave by the TWRA.
