It's the time of year when ghosts, goblins and witches are spotted all over town. It won't be any different at Chattanooga Market on Sunday, Oct. 26, when a Halloween celebration encourages visitors of all ages to get into the spirit of the fun.

Market officials invite everyone attending the market to come dressed in costume and join in some traditional Halloween activities. And though it's called the Haunted Market, it will be in good fun with nothing scary that will frighten anyone, says Melissa Siragusa, market spokeswoman.

There will be all-ages costume parades at noon, 1:30 and 3 p.m.; trick-or-treating at vendor booths throughout the day and a pumpkin-carving display from area schools. On-site pumpkin carving starts at 10:30 a.m. in the stage area. Prizes will be awarded.

With the onset of fall, fresh apples, pumpkins and mums are available from local farmers, and seasonal squashes are plentiful. There are also plenty of fresh cuts of meats, cheese and artisan foods weekly through November.

The Chattanooga Market is also hosting fellow nonprofit Habitat for Humanity for the annual Lego build. Prizes are awarded for creativity, but it's really all about the fun and quality family time. Habitat For Humanity will have free activities and prizes for kids participating and will welcome donations to the organization.

Sara Beth Go, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, will entertain on the EPB Stage at 2 p.m.
