Walker County men charged in Alabama slaying

Cherokee County, Ala., authorities have named two Walker County, Ga., men in the killing of 39-year-old Billy Ingram at his home in the Farill community, not far from Weiss Lake.

Authorities say Ingram was shot to death in an incident that was reported to dispatchers early Monday.

Jeremiah Jackson, 21, and 36-year-old Darrell Burgess were taken into custody late Monday and are being held in the Walker County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Alabama to face murder charges, Cherokee County, Ala., officials said in a press release on the arrests.

Walker County Jail officials say Jackson and Burgess have not yet waived extradition.
