At 5:50 p.m. today the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a sexual assault call at Erlanger hospital.

An adult female told police she was attacked in the parking garage area by two black male suspects.

One suspect was larger build with a dark complexion and the other was a skinny build, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available. If anyone has information regarding these suspects please call 423-698-2525. If anyone sees any suspicious behavior or any possible suspect that may be related to this incident please call 911 immediately.

Chattanooga police suggest the following safety precautions for parking garages:

• When entering a garage, look where the exits and well-lit areas are. If possible, park close to an exit, or in a well-lit area.

• If you notice anyone suspicious, tell somebody. This person may leave you alone, but could attack someone else.

• When returning to your vehicle have your keys in your hand to avoid having to look for them.

• Walk up straight and confident - do not let anyone make you nervous.

• Scan the area around your car - be alert and aware of your surroundings.

• Trust your instincts. If you do not trust something or do not feel comfortable, turn around and ask a security guard to walk you to your car.

• Call 911 if something happens to you or someone else, or you notice anyone out of the ordinary. It is important to report incidents immediately.
