Infant dies after brought to Calhoun, Ga., hospital

A four-month-old infant died this morning after arriving at the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Ga., according to a new release from the Calhoun Police Department.

Police responded to the hospital around 11:45 a.m. after receiving a call that an infant had arrived in the emergency room and was unresponsive, according to the release. The infant died shortly after officers arrived.

At this stage in the investigation, officers believe that the infant died of natural causes. An autopsy has been requested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab, according to the release.
