KNOXVILLE - When an officer tried to talk to a man walking on Interstate 40 downtown Thursday afternoon, the man bolted, removing his clothes and jettisoning narcotics as he ran.
Officers had to close the left lanes of I-40 East near the James White Parkway interchange about 2 p.m. as they chased the disrobing man and then apprehended him on the roadway.
"Apparently he started running and disrobing and throwing drugs," Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said.
