TRINITY, Ala. - Police in Trinity say a couple's two children were at home when their mother was shot in an attempted murder-suicide.
Police Chief Chris McLemore tells the Decatur Daily a 15-year-old girl called police saying she was in her room and heard gunshots from the kitchen Sunday morning. McLemore says dispatchers told the teen to get her brother and to get out of the house.
McLemore says emergency responders found 44-year-old Adrian Antonius Wray dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head when they arrived. Authorities say his wife was shot in the buttocks and was found in a bedroom. McLemore says the injured woman was taken to Huntsville Hospital for surgery.
McLemore says the children told investigators their parents had argued about money before the shooting.
