Tennessee high court suspends Fitzgerald from practicing law

The Supreme Court of Tennessee has temporarily suspended John Arnold Fitzgerald's from the practice of law.

Fitzgerald, from Rhea County, misappropriated funds for his own use, according to a news release from the Supreme Court of Tennessee.

Fitzgerald is precluded from accepting any new cases, and he must stop representing any existing clients by Oct 10., and after this date he may not use any indicia of lawyer, legal assistant, or law clerk nor maintain a presence where the practice of law is conducted, according to the release. He must also notify all clients being represented in pending matters, as well as co-counsel and opposing counsel of the Supreme Court's order suspending his law license.

Fitzgerald must also provide the location and account number for any trust accounts for which he has signatory authority or control, and cannot make withdrawals from said accounts without approval from the Disciplinary Counsel.

This suspension remains in effect until dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court.
