Hart's nontraditional artists showcased at Kitchen at Union Square

The artwork that adorns the walls of Kitchen at Union Square offers more than a pleasing aesthetic for diners. In a partnership with the nonprofit Hart Gallery, the restaurant at 200 W. M.L. King Blvd. showcases these creations to give homeless and nontraditional artists a chance to sell their work in a public setting. Pieces range in price from $60 to $700, and money from sales is returned to the artist and helps find gallery outreach programs. The collection is on display throughout the dining areas and available for purchase during business hours: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday; 4-10 p.m Saturday; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday (bar stays open an hour later than the restaurant Monday-Saturday).
