Storytellers plan 'We're Telling' event - Sept. 21

There's a slight nip in the air these days, which means two groups of area storytellers are ready to warm up with some good yarns.

The Cleveland Storytelling Guild and Cumberland Mountain Storytelling Guild will combine for their second annual "We're Telling" joint storytelling event.

The program will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the Community Room of the Cleveland Bradley Public Library, 795 Church St. in downtown Cleveland, Tenn.

Twelve regional storytellers will present some of their best tales in this matinee celebration of the art of the oral tradition. They include Maurine Olin and Judy Baker from Cleveland and Mike and Betty Roe from Crossville. Stories shared will be an eclectic mix of folk tales, traditional tales, tall tales and personal stories.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome. For more information, contact Judy Baker at 423-479-7887 or email tellone@bellsouth.net.
