VW Group of America names new communications head

Volkswagen Group of America today named Mario Guerreiro as executive vice president of communications.

Guerreiro will be responsible for all aspects of communications for the Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen brand. This includes corporate media relations, brand communications, all public relations campaigns, and internal communications. Guerreiro will assume the position on Oct. 1.

"Mario brings more than 30 years of automotive communications experience here in the U.S. and on the global stage which will be critical to the strategic and operational oversight of our Group and brand communications," said Michael Horn, president and chief executive of Volkswagen Group of America, in a statement.

Most recently, Guerreiro served as head of international communications in Group communications at the Volkswagen headquarters in Germany.
