Friends and family members met on Market Street Thursday night to remember the life of Jasmine Akin, who was killed Sept. 7. Community members spoke about the need to reduce violence and bring people together. At the end of the service, everyone gathered in a circle around a memorial for Jasmine and lit candles. Since Akin's death, there has been an emphasis on loving one another and putting an end to the violence affecting so many Chattanoogans.
