The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's golf team is tied with Florida for second place behind Illinois in the Wolf Run Intercollegiate tournament at Zionsville, Ind., but the two rounds scheduled for Saturday were limited to one because of afternoon storms. The 15 teams will try to play two rounds today. Illinois is at 285, 10 better than the Mocs and Gators with Houston fourth at 296 and two teams at 297. UTC's Zac Stolz is tied for ninth at 72 with Ewan Scott tied for 13th at 73, Liam Johnston and Andrew Weathers at 75 and Wes Gosselin at 76.

• The UTC women golfers go into the final day of Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn., in sixth place out of 14 teams. Vandy leads at 571 after two rounds, six strokes better than second-place LSU. Also ahead of UTC at 591 are Mississippi State at 584, GRU Augusta at 586 and Auburn at 590. Virgina and Kentucky are seventh and eighth at 595 and 598. The Mocs' Emily McLennan is tied for seventh individually at even-par 144. Agathe Sauzon and Isabella Loza are tied for 20th and 27th at 147 and 148, and Sarah Dolmovich is at 152.

• Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga., is holding a 2015 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball qualifying tournament Monday with three spots and two alternate positions available for the May 2-6 national event at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. The 60 two-man teams entered at Pinetree include David Noll Jr. of Dalton, Andrew Guthrie of Madisonville, Tenn., and former Baylor School standouts Michael Morrison and Carlton Forrester, all with Atlanta partners, and Bill Faith of Dalton with Argentina's Poli Medrano. Forrester lives in Atlanta also, and Morrison resides in the Atlanta suburb of Roswell.

Tennis

• UTC women's tennis players reached the finals in four of the five brackets in the USC Upstate Fall Classic in Spartanburg, S.C., with the Mocs' Kayla Jones and doubles partner Samantha Creswell facing off today in the top green draw. Jones, the No. 1 seed, won 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 in her two singles matches Saturday, and Creswell topped the second seed from Presbyterian 7-5, 6-1 and added a 6-2, 6-2 win over an Upstate player. UTC's Kelsey Coots is in the black draw final after Saturday victories of 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-2, and Katie Polk is in the white draw consolation final. The Mocs were 3-0 in doubles Saturday with Jones and Caswell winning 8-5 in the green semifinals, Coots and Kaylene Chadwell winning their white semifinal and Claire Mulyadi and Alison Storie reaching the white consolation final.

Soccer

• Covenant College won both parts of a USA South soccer home doubleheader for the second time in as many days Saturday, with both the Scots (5-2-1) and Lady Scots (4-4) winning 1-0. Michael Arango scored from a Joel Friesen assist in the 12th minute of the men's game. Bethany Logan scored 6:42 into the second half of the women's match from an Anna Porch pass. The conference presented its 2014 sportsmanship trophy to Covenant at the soccer field. "We are deeply honored to receive this award," said Dr. J. Derek Halvorson, the president of the Lookout Mountain school. "It exemplifies something that is very important for our athletic program."

• Sophomore Shelby Meckstroth scored three goals as Sewanee defeated visiting Tennessee Temple 5-0 in women's soccer Saturday. Meckstroth has 11 goals in seven matches for the Tigers (5-2), who outshot the Lady Crusaders 26-5 with a 13-3 advantage in on-goal attempts. Jessie Hook and Emily Driver had the other goals, and Tyler Edell and Grace Priest has assists. Lyndi Dodd made eight saves for Temple (0-6).

Field Hockey

• Visiting Centre College scored four of the last five goals and edged Sewanee 4-3 in overtime in Southern Athletic Association field hockey Saturday. After Katie Wilson and Sarah Barry put the Tigers (2-4, 1-1) ahead 2-0 by the time the match was 25 minutes old, Julie Gates scored twice for the Colonels (4-3, 2-0) before Sewanee found the net again, and for the last time. That goal was by Virginia Barry with an assist from Carrie Anderson. Centre won the shots count 23-11, and Katya Waters and Gabrielle Fignar made four and five saves in defeat.

Football

• UTC football defensive coordinator Adam Braithwaite will be the guest speaker for the Chattanooga Quarterback Club's noon luncheon meeting Monday at Finley Stadium, and the public is invited. Attendance costs $10 with a meal, $4 without. Braithwaite, who also works with safeties, is in his third year with the Mocs and his second as coordinator. He played for William & Mary and worked for five seasons at West Virginia and Michigan, among other stops.
