Piece of missing plane found in Chattahoochee

HEADLAND, Ala. -- The search for a missing airplane carrying two men is focusing on the Chattahoochee River after parts of the plane were discovered in the water.

Henry County Sheriff William Maddox says anglers found a strut assembly and a tire in the river on Tuesday.

Boats and dive crews were searching the river on Wednesday. The area is in southeast Alabama along the Georgia line.

A vintage Piper Cub aircraft left Headland bound for Eufaula on Sept. 16 and never landed. It was carrying two people who haven't been heard from since.

Authorities identify the missing men as Steven Alec Haase of Dothan and David Michael Marlow of New Brockton.
