Manhunt suspect in custody in Sequatchie County

Cody Scott Johnson, the Sequatchie County man who was the subject of a manhunt starting Sept. 20, was arrested Tuesday at a home on Browns Chapel Road in Sequatchie County.

Officers searched the home with the owner's permission and found Johnson hiding in a closet, according to a news release. He was wanted on a charge of theft over $10,000 and for violating probation. He is in the Sequatchie County Jail without bond pending an Oct. 30 court date.

Officers also arrested Joshua Kent Johnson, 30, of Signal Mountain, after they saw him trying to dispose of a suspicious item, the release stated. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of hydrocodone and possession of Xanax, and also has an Oct. 30 court date.
