A special gift
I won’t bore you with tales of my 50th birthday since I pretty much filled you in last week.

Time for milestones
It’s hard to believe that my youngest daughter, Taylor, is now a college graduate. Not that the other two aren’t. My oldest, Anne, is now an architect at Artech here in town.

Kudos to Food Lion
I rarely shop at Food Lion. Nothing against the place really. There’s not one in my neighborhood, that’s all.

Atlanta visit
Last weekend, I paid my every-now-and-again visit to Atlanta. That translates into: Whenever I save enough money to go to IKEA and Trader Joe’s, along with the gas money to get there and back.

Thoughts of a pimento cheese sandwich
After a week at The Masters, I had my fill of turkey and mustard sandwiches on one slice of wheat bread. I was doing my best to stay on Weight Watchers and threw away the top slice of bread and felt that was fairly healthful.

Checking out the labels
Right when food labeling was thought to be one of the best ways to watch your health, TV news reports that when a box reads “O” trans-fats or “0” grams of fat per serving, it really could have fat?

For those who loved country before Music Row smothered it in studio laquerwork or who are just fans of flavorful southern music with short attention spans, here’s the skinny on singer/songwriter Justin Townes Earle’s studio debut “The Good LIfe”: as soon as it hits shelves March 25, pick it up.

2008-07-01
This week in the podcast we mark the end of Bill Gates' career at Microsoft, at least this part of it. I have no doubt that he will continue to play a large role in some way, but he has left to devote his time to charity and other similar interests.
