Well, maybe “invades” is the wrong description. Although, she did say she was “spaced out.” Reagan Boggs is a songwriter from Fall Branch, TN in the tri-cities. She is a country soul with a book of songs all about growing up as the child of a coal miner in southwest Virginia. Her latest album is titled “Right Now” but she’s working up some songs for a new release soon.
Believe it or not, there are still singing’ cowgirls out there.
2008 was a heck of a weird year for music.
I hesitate to call these songs “bad” because they’re not. The songs on this week’s MUSICcast are, for lack of a better term, unique.
This week, Casey Phillips and myself will play for you our favorite “Holiday” songs. Our tastes are completely varied so you’re in for a bit of a treat. Two of my selections are by Tom Waits and Casey will bring us the folk sounds of Robert Earl Keen and the obscure Roger Whittaker. It’s almost the time of year again when we here at the TFP have to compile our “Best of” list of our favorite albums. 2008 was, and still is, a heck of a year for good music.
