TN woman charged in crash that killed 2 boys

RALEIGH, Tenn. - A West Tennessee woman is facing charges after a crash that killed two boys.

WMC-TV reports police say 26-year-old Sparkel Hastings is accused of driving erratically on Saturday before losing control of her vehicle and hitting two 11-year-old friends who were walking on a sidewalk in Raleigh. Joshua McDowell died Saturday and Darryl Howard died two days later.

The station reports police have charged Hastings with two counts of reckless vehicular homicide, aggravated assault, driving with a suspended or revoked license and not having insurance.

It wasn't immediately clear whether she has an attorney. Her next court date is Feb. 2.
